ICM M8A1 U.S. Landing Mat Model Kit HC-ICM48410

The ICM M8A1 U.S. Landing Mat (153 x 245 mm) model kit, part number HC-ICM48410, represents the steel airfield plates used by US engineering services during the Vietnam War. In service during the second half of the 1960s and early 1970s, M8A1 plates provided temporary surfaces for army aviation sites, allowing engineering units to create small landing areas or larger airfields.

The plates could be installed in rows or in a staggered arrangement, making this set suitable for creating varied ground layouts. Multiple sets can be combined to extend the covered area and build an airfield scene to the required size. The completed platform measures 153 x 245 mm, providing a setting for most 1:48 scale aircraft or helicopters from the Vietnam War period.
