The ICM Spitfire Mk.IXC Beer Delivery – WWII British Fighter (HC-ICM48060) captures the late-war Merlin 66-powered variant that led British Fighter Command in 1944. As well as flying in Operation Overlord, the Mk.IXC was involved in special sorties delivering beer to Allied forces on the continent. This 1:48 plastic model kit recreates these subjects with crisp moulding and fine surface detail.
The kit features a highly detailed cockpit and engine, supported by a three-option decal sheet. ICM also includes bomb rack parts and two types of beer barrels, enabling an authentic representation of these unique missions. Clear assembly instructions are provided.

One of the most famous British WWII fighter aircraft was the Spitfire developed by R. J. Mitchell. The maiden flight was on March 5th, 1936. The Spitfire IX modification with the more powerful Merlin 66 engine was in production from 1943 to 1945.
In the summer of 1944, Spitfire IX were the main planes of British Fighter Command. They took part in the Overlord operation and were also involved in special missions, in particular, the delivery of beer to the mainland for the advancing Allied forces.
