Tamiya 1/24 Volkswagen Type 2 T1 Model Kit HC-28101

As the very first model in the Clic Loc 1/24 Car Models, we are delighted to announce releases of 1/24 Volkswagen Type 2 (T1) in two colour variations - red/white (Item 28101) and blue/white (Item 28102)! Parts are moulded in the right colour, so you do not have to paint! Also, the number of parts is about half of that of 1/24 Sports Car Series kits. Each kit can be finished in about two hours!
March 1950 saw the debut of the Volkswagen Type 2 which took the much-loved Volkswagen Beetle as a base. An air-cooled 4-cylinder engine capable of 44hp was employed at the rear of the boxy yet curved body. One of the most popular among the wealth of its variations was the “Samba” microbus, which had a 23-window version encircled by windows and employing a canvas roof. It accommodated 9 adults and was notable for its flat floor and twin side doors. The Type 2 (T1) was produced until 1967, and ever since has enjoyed massive popularity the world over.

• This is a 1/24 scale plastic model snap-together assembly kit (no cement needed) of the famed “Samba” model of the Volkswagen Type 2 with 23 windows

• The boxy yet curved form is captured in style
• The interior - not only driver seat but also bench seats - is recreated by one part
• Features steerable front wheels
• 71 parts and 9 sprues (7 colours & clear) in total
• No painting needed:
  • Red lower and white upper body parts (Item 28101)
  • Blue lower and white upper body parts (Item 28102)
  • Metal plated parts for sections such as frames, side mirrors, wheel centre caps, front and tail light frames and VW emblem
  • Clear red upper parts and clear orange lower parts for taillights
• Stickers are included for sections such as window frames and meters
• Packaging is newly designed for this series, and has the finished model picture in actual size
• New packaging size (290x190x92mm) - box thickness will differ from model to model
