About The Panther Ausf.G
Developed to counter the Soviet T-34, the Panther combined sloped armour, a powerful 700 hp Maybach engine and a turret set far back on the hull mounting the long 75mm L/70 gun. Its high-velocity main armament delivered performance beyond what its calibre might suggest. The Ausf.G introduced refinements including the option of a heater unit for winter operations and a revised mantlet without the lower “chin” piece to reduce the shot trap effect.

About the German Panther Ausf.G Developed as a countermeasure to the Soviet T-34, the German Panther tank was producedfrom 1943 until the end of the war and served alongside the Panzer III, IV and Tiger tanks. ThePanther tank featured sloped armor, powerful 700hp Maybach engine and a turret placed farback on the hull mounting a 75mm L/70 cannon. The main gun was even more devastatingthan its size of 75mm would suggest, due to the large propellant charge and long barrel withhigh muzzle velocity. Many consider the Panther every bit as effective as the Tiger I, but easierto produce and maintain. The Ausf.G included versions with heater unit installed over the leftengine fan, and with curving lower chin piece removed from mantlet to eliminate shot trap.
