The ICM ZiL-131 – Soviet Army Truck (HC-ICM35515) captures one of the Soviet military’s most recognisable all-road vehicles. Introduced in 1967, the ZiL-131 became a mainstay through the 1970s and 1980s thanks to its reliability and off-road capability. Used as a personnel carrier and 5-ton cargo truck, it was widely supplied across Warsaw Pact nations and to many countries in Asia and Africa. Production ran in large numbers, with later ZiL-131N improvements and manufacturing moving to the Ural Automotive Plant; specialist variants continue to see service.
