Tamiya TT-01 gearing chart and final drive chart
Updated by Frank
Gearing can be a pain at the best of times, especially with Tamiya models, so this short article will hopefull shed some light on TT-01 gearing for you. Selecting the correct gearing for your application is important but its also important to ensure that when you are using the fixed mesh motor mounts that are standard on a TT01 that you have the motor mounted on the correct setting to ensure the gears are meshed correct for the gearing.
Below is an illustration of the motor mounting positions A,B,C and D

Below is a chart showing the gearing options and final drive ratio's.

The stock gearin on a TT-01 is 61T spur and 19T pinion, this is what is classed as safe gearing. I currently run 22T/ 61T on a a brushless converted tt-01 on 2s lipo. So far It has managed 38MPH on this set up but all being well I will be able to improve this with some timing adjustment on the ESC.
