Dragon 1/35 Panther F (Ausf.F) Model Kit

The Dragon 1/35 Panther F (HC-D6403) captures the final evolution of Germany’s famed Panther. Centred on the late-war Ausf.F concept, it showcases the distinctive Schmalturm (narrow) turret with its increased armour protection, reduced frontal profile, and provision for a stereoscopic rangefinder and infrared sight equipment. The turret mounted the 75mm KwK44/1 L/70 main gun with a coaxial MG42, reflecting the design intent of this advanced variant.

Although the Panther F did not reach series production before the end of WWII, Dragon’s kit allows enthusiasts to build this historically significant what-if subject with impressive fidelity. Based on Dragon’s acclaimed 1/35 Panther G Late Production tooling, the model features the correct steel-rimmed road wheels specified for the Ausf.F and a completely retooled turret with the proper shape and profile. Historical Notes

Design for the Panther Ausf.F was accepted in May 1944. Development proceeded with eight hulls and three turrets completed in 1945, and one prototype reportedly finished in January 1945. While some sources suggest additional vehicles were assembled in April 1945, there is no confirmation of combat use. This kit offers an accurate representation of the late-war concept, combining the steel-wheel chassis with the newly designed Daimler-Benz Schmalturm.
