About the F-14A Tomcat

The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a supersonic, twin‑engine, two‑seat interceptor renowned for its variable‑sweep wings, twin tail and powerful performance. Driven by two General Electric afterburning turbofans, the F-14A reached speeds up to Mach 2.34. Armament included a 20 mm M61 Vulcan rotary cannon and air‑to‑air missiles such as AIM‑9 Sidewinder, AIM‑7 Sparrow and the long‑range AIM‑54 Phoenix.
