YAK-7 late version

The Zvesda YAK-7 late version (part no. HC-Z4837) is a 1:48 scale plastic model kit capturing the Yakovlev Yak-7B fighter in its later wartime configuration. Based on the improved Yak-7 airframe, the Yak-7B featured the M-105PF engine rated at 1180 hp and upgraded armament, replacing ShKAS machine guns with two 12.7 mm UBS. Later production aircraft received a lowered fairing and a teardrop-shaped cockpit canopy.

Produced at factories No. 153 (Novosibirsk) and No. 82 (Moscow) from 1942–1944, a total of 5120 Yak-7B M-105PF aircraft were built. The type served as one of the principal Red Army Air Force fighters and saw combat on all fronts through to the end of WWII.
