The Dragon 15cm s.IG.33/2 (Sf) auf Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer (part HC-D6489) is a phenomenally detailed 1/35 scale plastic model kit. It features Dragon’s latest NEO Tracks with pre-moulded lengths, designed for convenient assembly from a minimal number of pieces while retaining full track detail.

More than a simple parts crossover, this release includes numerous new components to capture the distinctive infantry support vehicle. The kit provides a newly tooled upper hull and raised superstructure, a detailed fighting compartment, revised idler wheel, storage bin, and associated interior elements such as ammunition racks. Modellers can choose between two options for outfitting the aft section of the fighting compartment. A newly designed exhaust and muffler assembly is included, complemented by a photo-etched guard for extra finesse.

Historical Background

Mounting the well-known 15cm s.IG.33/2 heavy infantry gun on the Hetzer chassis, this tracked infantry support vehicle offered powerful close support. From December 1944, Czech manufacturer BMM converted six vehicles and produced an additional 24 based on the Bergepanzer 38(t) recovery chassis. The vehicle incorporated a raised superstructure, while the mount and shield for the s.IG.33/2 mirrored those used on self-propelled howitzers built on the Pz.Kpfw.38(t) chassis.
