The Fastrax Aluminium Metered Glow Starter (FAST51) pairs an anodised aluminium body with a clear, easy-to-read meter so you can confirm current draw at the glow plug before starting. If the needle doesn’t move when connected, it indicates either a failed glow plug or a low battery. A 2100mAh battery is included; charger not supplied.

Metered Design Benefits

  • Analogue meter shows when the glow plug is drawing current.
  • Quick fault-finding: no movement suggests a bad plug or low battery.
  • Anodised aluminium construction.

Battery Information

  • Supplied with a 2100mAh battery.
  • No charger included.

A practical option for glow plug ignition on nitro engines, helping you diagnose starting issues quickly at the bench or track.

With this anodised aluminium metered glow starter, you can easily tell if the glow starter is drawing any current when attached to the glow plug. If the meter doesn't move, you will instantly know that either the glow plug is bad or the battery is low. 2100mAH battery included.

Questions & Answers
Real questions from real customers. Why not ask your own?
What type of battery is supplied, NiCad or NmHi
John Bennett / 29th May 2023

That is an nimh which will charge on nimh or nicd chargers.

What type of charger does the 2010 mah glow stick use
Alan Pywell / 25th September 2019

If you have a suitable charger you could use a charge cable such as say ET0812

If not - it's cheaper to use the charger from a basic glow start such as FAST50

How long to charge? Thanks
Jon Elgar / 4th August 2019

That depends what charger you use (this doesn't include a charger).

A fast charge at around 2 amps would charge it in around an hour.
