About The Real Motorcycle

Unveiled at the 1988 Paris Show, the Yamaha FZR750R (OW01) brought cutting-edge YZF750 endurance racing technology to the road. Its 5-valve DOHC inline-4 engine featured titanium connecting rods, enlarged intake and exhaust ports, and Yamaha’s EXUP (Exhaust Ultimate Power) system for strong output. A swing arm rear suspension and lateral “Deltabox” aluminium box frame delivered rigidity with weight savings. Based on the YZF750 that dominated the 1987 and 1988 Suzuka 8-hour endurance races, the OW01 was limited to approximately one thousand lucky riders worldwide.
