Tamiya 1/350 Japanese Destroyer Yukikaze

Tamiya’s 1/350 Japanese Destroyer Yukikaze (HC-78020) is a full display model depicting the famed Kagero-class destroyer as she appeared during the 1945 Ten Ichi Go operation, the Battle for Okinawa. The kit offers a choice of waterline or full-hull presentation and includes refined details to bring this World War II icon to life on the shelf.

Commissioned in 1940, Yukikaze served with the 16th Destroyer Division alongside Hatsukaze, Amatsukaze and Tokitsukaze under the light cruiser Jintsu. From the Philippines campaign at the outset of the Pacific War through the Dutch East Indies, Midway, Guadalcanal and the Solomons, to the Marianas and Leyte Gulf, she undertook combat, escort and supply missions and returned from every sortie. Post-war, she was transferred to the Republic of China and later served as a reserve training ship, earning the nickname “lucky destroyer”.
