The Tamiya Russian Heavy Tank JS-2 Model 1 (HC-32571) is a 1/48 scale plastic assembly kit that faithfully recreates this late–World War II Soviet breakthrough tank. Introduced in December 1943 to counter the German Tiger I, the JS-2 combined a powerful 122mm gun with superior armour. From August 1944 the front glacis hatch was deleted, improving frontal protection. Built at the Chelyabinsk Kirov factory (ChKZ), JS-2s proved effective against enemy armour and in assault roles, and this model captures the machine’s presence and detail.
