ICM’s Yak-9T in 1:32 scale (HC-ICM32090) depicts one of the most respected WWII Soviet artillery fighter aeroplanes. The real Yak-9T was built around the powerful NS-37 37 mm cannon, delivering extended engagement range and the ability to strike ground targets effectively. It could engage enemy aircraft at up to 1,200 metres and its armour-piercing rounds penetrated up to 30 mm of armour, aiding anti-tank missions. Auxiliary armament included a UBS heavy machine gun with 200 rounds. Highly regarded by pilots, 2,748 Yak-9T fighters were produced between March 1943 and June 1945. This kit provides an accurate, finely detailed fuselage and quality plastic parts for a rewarding build and display.

The Yak-9T fighter was one of the modifications of the Yak-9 aircraft. Its main feature was an automatic NS-37 calibre 37 mm gun. The installation of this powerful weapon forced a number of improvements to the design of the base aircraft, in particular the power frame of the fuselage was strengthened. The NS-37 gun significantly increased the range of fire, without reducing the likelihood of the enemy aircraft. Shooting shells with shrapnel equipment allowed to hit enemy aircraft at a distance of up to 1200 meters.

The gun could also hit ground armoured targets. Its armour-piercing projectile could pierce armour up to 30 mm thick, which allowed it to successfully use the aircraft to fight tanks. As an auxiliary weapon, Yak-9T had a large-calibre machine gun UBS with ammunition of 200 rounds. The aeroplanes were very popular and highly regarded among pilots. In total, from March 1943 to June 1945, 2,748 such fighters were produced.
