The ICM KHD S3000/SS M Maultier is a 1:35 scale plastic model kit of the WWII German semi-tracked truck. Based on the widely used 3-tonne KHD S3000, the Maultier half-track conversion addressed the limited off-road capability of the original rear-wheel-drive truck. Produced from 1942 to 1944, around 1,740 Maultier variants served on multiple fronts, including the Eastern Front, North Africa, Italy, and France.

This ICM kit (part number HC-ICM35453) captures the vehicle with a highly detailed chassis, engine, and interior. High-accuracy sprues and clear assembly instructions support a precise build, while the included decal options allow you to depict vehicles from different theatres and periods.

A significant part of the German Wehrmacht vehicle fleet during World War II was made up of 3-tonne cargo trucks. One of the most popular was the KHD S3000, which was produced from 1940 onwards in the Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz plant in Ulm. This truck was equipped with a 4 cylinder Deutz diesel engine and had rear-wheel drive only.

KHD S3000 trucks were widely used by all parts of the German army up until the end of war, such as at the Soviet-German front, North Africa, Italy, and in France. In off-road conditions, the rear-wheel drive vehicles showed minimal cross-country capability, so many KHD S3000 trucks were produced as Maultier half-track vehicles. In total, 1,740 KHD S3000 trucks were produced this way from 1942 to 1944.
