Tamiya PS-58 Pearl Clear is a specialised spray for transparent polycarbonate (Lexan) R/C car bodies. Supplied in a 100ml can, it is formulated to finish approximately one complete model and provides a durable, pearlescent effect when used as directed. Part number HC-86058.

Pearl Finish Guidance
- Apply PS-58 Pearl Clear first, then spray the desired colour to transform it into a pearlescent shade.
- PS57 reproduces pearl white and should be backed with white.
Application Notes
- Paint the inside of the polycarbonate body shell, not the outside.
- Hold the can about 30cm from the surface and apply light, even coats.
- Allow each coat to cure before applying additional coats as needed.

These spray paints were developed especially for decorating transparent polycarbonate bodies used in R/C car modeling. Each can contains 100ml of paint, which is the appropriate amount for finishing one complete model.
Painting polycarbonate bodies is done from the inside of the body shell as opposed to the outside of a traditional plastic model. When spraying body from the inside, keep the can about 30cm from the surface. After curing apply another coat as necessary. These paints are impervious to oil and fuels, so they can be safely used on gas-powered R/C bodies.
Pearl Colors: These paints enable a chic pearl effect finish on your polycarbonate body. PS57 reproduces pearl white. Use PS58 Pearl Clear in combination with normal colors to achieve your desired pearl color effects. PS57 should be backed up with white. PS58 should be applied first before spraying the desired color that you wish to turn into a pearlescent effect.
