The Tamiya Sd.Kfz.232 (HC-32574) is a 1/48 scale plastic assembly kit of Germany’s distinctive 8-wheeled heavy armoured car. The full-size Sd.Kfz.232 combined a Fu.11 radio set with a prominent frame-type antenna, and mounted a KwK30 20mm cannon with an MG34 in the turret. Known for its front and rear driving positions, capable 8-wheel drive and a top speed of 90 km/h, it served as a key reconnaissance platform across Europe, North Africa and the Eastern Front. This kit brings that history to the bench with carefully researched detail previously seen only in larger scales.

During the first half of WWII, German reconnaissance units greatly used the Sd.Kfz.231 series heavy armored car. Above all, the Sd.Kfz.232 was equipped with a Fu.11 radio and featured a large frame-type antenna mounted on the body. It also came armed with a KwK30 20mm cannon and an MG34 machine gun mounted on its turret. The 8-wheeled Sd.Kfz.232 had an on-road top speed of 90km/h, featured elaborate front and rear driving positions, and a superb 8-wheel drive system.
