I clicked the button to say that I was interested in a PT 40. may be too big so Don't order one just for me! I am looking for a 30 to 36 inch wingspan RTF R/c model aircraft. I am flying my Champ and Duet in a local Park/games field and although wanting a larger 'plane because of the wind and my eyesight I don't want to attract the attention of the grounds man. The Sports Cub still on the small side. Any suggestions? Regards Mike Harris
Asked by Mike Harris on 31st October 2018

How about the mini apprentice HBZ3100 ?

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Hi, With the HobbyZone Sport Cub S would you recommend buying a spare battery? If so which one and would I also need to purchase a charger- again if so which one would you recommend? Thanks, James
Asked by James Walton on 12th November 2018

It's certainly worth getting a spare battery as they are very reasonably priced and quick to swap over for extra runtime.

The best one is the EFLB1501S45

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Looking at purchasing a Hobbyzone Sport Cub - wondered if I should buy a spare battery at the same time, and if so, which one ? Also, what happens if battery runs out while flying - if that can happen ? Thank you
Asked by Barry Newton on 19th November 2018

The batteries are very reasonable (around £7) so certainly worth a spare  - just add item EFLB1501S45 to your basket.

You will notice a drop in power when the low voltage detection kicks in during flight - you can then land safely before it cuts out!

I have 1s 200mah which I use on blade nano will they fit
Asked by Colin Bassham on 10th February 2019

Yes, if it has the micro E Flite connector that should work fine.

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Can I use a 2s or 3s out of the box, have other electric model cars etc or does the esc not support this
Asked by Nick Bessell on 1st July 2019

No, these are only designed for the EFLB1501S packs

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Is there a more powerful mah battery that can work with this plane ?
Asked by Jordan on 23rd August 2019

Afraid not sorry. The EFLB1501S45 are very reasonably priced and offer good performance though.

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Is this supplied with a standard - sized TX and can I use it(TX) to bind to other suitable aircraft? Do you have an image of the TX? Thanks for your help
Asked by Colin James Camp on 14th October 2019

It's a compact transmitter - not a full size DX5/DX6 etc. We've now added a picture of it.

It is however Spektrum DSMX compatible and yes would bind to other models.
