Atlantis Models 1:160 Tuna Seiner Corsair Kit AMCL72122

1:160 Scale. Measures 5.5 inches long. Nice little detailed kit. The models in this particular kit are designed for general use in N-scale (1:160) model railroad layouts or waterfront dioramas. While specific, individual boat histories are not associated with these generic models, their real-world counterparts have rich histories as vital parts of maritime commerce and service.

Tuna Seiners are commercial fishing vessels that use large purse seine nets, a huge curtain-like net with a drawstring, to encircle and capture schooling tuna near the surface. They operate globally with advanced tech like helicopters, speedboats, and brine freezing to preserve large catches. These powerful boats, ranging from 65 up to 320 feet long, efficiently target tuna but face sustainability scrutiny due to potential bycatch (like dolphins, sharks, and other species).
