This needs a 4s battery they recommend at least 2600 mah for run time.
Yes if the grass is nicely trimmed it will be fine , this will not land on long grass .
This is not something we would recommend as a beginner i would look at trainer planes first also you want an RTF version with the transmitter and battery and charger ideally something like this FMS138R-REFV2
