FTX CARNAGE 1/10 BRUSHLESS TRUCK 4WD RTR W/LIPO & CHARGER

Get ready for some serious off road truggy action with the Brushless Edition FTX Carnage. Taking backyard bashing to a new level, the Carnage Brushless boasts some amazing features for the ultimate ‘Ready-to-Run' experience.

Etronix provide crystal free 2.4ghz control with the EX2 Sport radio. In addition the Etronix Photon sensorless brushless system is installed to provide some low maintenance, high performance speed and power.

Instead of using a NiMh battery, FTX decided to include a Voltz hardcase LiPo battery to get the very best from the Photon system, but with safety in mind included is a balance charger and LiPo charge sack. Infact all you need to add is AA batteries for the transmitter.

The 4wd shaft drivetrain features metal diff gears and front universal driveshafts, while an integrated slipper helps protect the drive from possible damage. With adjustable turn- buckles allround and large bore oil filled shock absorbers the Carnage is raring to go.

In addition if you want to tune and upgrade your Carnage, FTX provide a wide range of car- bon and aluminium upgrades that will bring your ride upto a whole new pro level.

The ftx carnage is worth the money, the only thing I don't like about it, is the body, it cracked with in 15 minutes of use, it is poorly made and I am annoyed as I now have to buy another also the front of the body catches on the front springs which is very irritating , this isn't a big issue but the stickers are applied roughly as if they where rushed and the wing at the back has been placed incorrectly these arent major issues but I would have liked them to be a least correct as I payed £194 for this product, this vehicle is perfect for someone who has already had their first beginners rc and are ready to move on to some thing a bit more ** exciting **, I would not recommend you buy this product as your first rc as it is extremely fast and you might end up crashing and breaking it, I am also happy that it included the 3250mah lipo battery and wall charger, this rc is very capable and would get through lots of different terrains including steep hills, mud, rocks, even long grass and much more, the battery takes about 4 hours to charge and you get 20-30 minutes run time (not using full speed for the 20-30 minutes) I'm not sure how fast this goes but by looking at it, it looks like it's going about 40-50 mph , I could be completely wrong but that's how fast I think it goes (lots of fun) the features on this product are very good, strong chassis, good articulation, amazing shocks, good steering, and all the other parts are very strong, I have flipped, crashed, rolled this vehicle and nothing has broken( except for the body) overall I give the ftx carnage a 4-5 stars, if the body was better made I would easily give it a 5 stars this vehicle is truly amazing and lots of fun and not a cheap build (again except for the body)

This was my 1st hobby grade RC car and like the previous reviewer said this was incredibly fast and at 1st difficult to control. 1st day I smashed one of the front shafts and stearing knuckle and broken part of the body shell. Completely my fault for getting over confident and not easing up so my new RC went straight into a metal fence at full throttle. So I ordered the new parts and I must say delivery time of the car and parts was great so hats off to wheelspin. Since the accident I've got better at controlling the carnage and I must say I love it. I'm glad I went with it as I think it's a great kit and considering I broke part of it 1st day the rest of it held up well. I'm sure any RC would of needed repairs after that smash. I'm still using the included battery which gives me about 25 minute of running time. I will say get a hobby grade balance charger as the included one takes around 3 to 4 hours. Like the previous reviewer said I don't recommend that you buy this for a Yong child as a 1st hobby grade RC car but if you do make sure you use it in a wide open field so he can make mistakes without killing his new toy lol. This kit is incredible value and great fun parts are plentiful and cheep. This plus a decent lipo charger and some AAs to get you started will set you back £250 and compared to many more brand name makes that are over£300 just for the RTR kit is great value

How long does the battery last on one charge ? How much for an extra battery?
Stephen Keeley / 29th November 2023

They last around 20 + minutes  but you can get bigger runtimes like this battery:

VZ0317

Steve @ Wheelspin Models
Hi, I know the recommended maximum is 2s but what 3s battery would fit that has a long run time.
Patrick / 20th September 2022

We cannot recommend 3s for this as its 2s max but the bigger the mah the more runtime you will get.

Steve W @ Wheelspin Models
What battery does this come with ?
Rob Ward / 14th September 2022

That comes with a 3250 7.4v lipo

(the car is 2s lipo maximum)

Steve W @ Wheelspin Models

Simon / 23rd April 2022

On the battery that comes with the car approx 10 - 15 mins depending onhow you drive the car

Si @ Wheelspin Models
Hi, I bought a carnage today and realised it doesn't have real headlights. Is there an upgrade to add lights? Cheers
Jeremy Blom / 4th September 2021

Sure, we do a range of lighting kits - take a look at https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/c/176/

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
does this definately come with a 60A ESC?
Adam / 10th June 2021

I just checked with FTX who advise:

"The carnage come with the ET0125 ESC which is 45amp

The Bugsta comes with ET0126 ESC which is 60amp, because of the bigger wheels."

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
What is the difference between this and the FTX carnage 2.0, apart from £80
Chris Joyce / 28th February 2021

This one includes a brushless motor and ESC, and a LiPo battery and charger (so it's quicker!)

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Hi bought this car from you and want another battery can you recommend one that works with the included charger thanks
Chris / 6th December 2020

An ideal 2S LiPo would be say PEK00545 or VZ0317

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
does this car (FTX5543) come with the battery and charger included in the price? Are spare parts for the car readily available ? How much would a second battery cost pls?
Stephen Pessall / 7th August 2020

Yes, this includes a LiPo battery and charger.

Yes, spares are all listed on our site - just pop your part number into our site search.

We list a few additional battery options in our combo packs :-)

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
FTX Carnage brushless or FTX Outlaw brushless?
James / 27th June 2020

Whichever you prefer the look of - both are great cars!

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Hello, Im looking to buy a RC car for my son for Christmas. My budget is between £150 - £200 and I'm looking for some advice on the best buy. My son is 12 and its his first RC car so ideally needs to be quite robust. Hell probably be mainly running the car on grass/dirt. Ive also read that brushless models are the fastest so I'd also probably be looking for this as part of the spec. Can you recommend a suitable model? Many thanks Stephen
Stephen Martindale / 10th December 2019

Brushless will indeed be quicker than brushed.

For that budget, something like the Carnage Brushless sounds ideal - it's bang on budget, brushless, and pretty tough.  Spares and accessories are readily available and very reasonably priced too from FTX.

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Is oil needed for this car if so what type and were dose it go,
Jack / 6th November 2019

The only real "oil" you'd need would be a quick spray of GT85 on the bearings after they have been cleaned as part of your usual maintenance.

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
can this be run on a 3s ?
Jack Harrington / 21st September 2018

2S is the recommended maximum

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
what type of nitro engine is it like a .18, just thinking of what fuel to get
Fenton Birch / 7th September 2018

This is electric.... Brushless.

For the nitro version check out FTX5540

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Does this rc car hold 3s LiPo Batteries without breaking the car?
Lewis Patterson / 9th June 2018

The recommended maximum is 2S.

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Could I run this and a ftx surge at the same time 2 different controllers?
Jason / 18th November 2017

Yes, you could run several cars together without any issue.

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Can I get the fix carnage brushless in self build kit from your store thanks
Angelo Mazzi / 23rd September 2017

No, there is no kit version of this. A similar car available in kit form is the ECX Amp kit ECX03034I

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Is this waterproof?
Ian Beavis / 29th May 2017

No, these are not advertised as waterproof.

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
What is the maximum battery size that would fit in this car? e.g. W x H x L
Henry / 5th December 2016

These take a 'standard' sized battery pack. So for example, around 140 x 46 x 25mm

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
How fast is it?
Jarred / 12th November 2016

FTX don't quote a top speed, but we estimate around 35-40mph.
