With over 10% more size than many trail rigs, the Kanyon offers excellent ground presence and articulation. A high-torque 60T brushed motor, waterproof electronics and a 9kg steering servo deliver precise control, while factory-fitted LED lighting keeps the trail visible after dark.
Wheel And Tyres
Supersoft block-pattern tyres on scale-style wheels provide dependable grip and a realistic finish, helping the Kanyon claw through loose, rocky and wet ground.
Body
The semi-scale bodyshell is packed with moulded detail including wheel arches, roof rack, luggage tray, roll cage, grille and light bars. Aluminium front and rear bumpers and body mounts offer versatile positioning options. A total of 13 factory-fitted LEDs enhance visibility and scale presence.
Transmission And Motor
The 60T high-torque brushed motor drives a compact 3-gear transmission with metal output, crown and diff gears for reliability. Front universal CVA driveshafts, telescopic centre shafts and high-clearance locked axles keep power delivering to the ground.
Suspension And Steering
Oil-filled, threaded shocks and multi-link suspension deliver impressive axle articulation. Steering is handled by an Etronix 9kg waterproof servo to tackle tight technical sections with confidence.

Wheel and Tyres
Supersoft aggressive lug pattern tyres are mounted to scale style wheels for a realistic finish. With a blend of semi-scale looks, reliable chassis platform and over 10% bigger size than most trail crawlers.
Body
The Kanyon’s off road inspired semi-scale bodyshell features a number of additional moulded accessories such as wheel arches, luggage tray, roll cage, front grill and head, tail, spotlights. The aluminium front and rear bumper and body mounts provide a wide selection of optional positioning for possible aftermarket options and to wrap things up 13 factory installed LED lamps provide the necessary illumination for you to keep your rig on the trail long after the sun goes down.
Transmission and Motor
The high torque 60T brushed motor drives a rugged, all metal output pinion, crown and transmission gears for extra reliability. Front universal CVA driveshafts and centre telescopic sliding shafts keep the power connected to all wheels through high clearance front and rear locked axles.
Shock Absorbers
Oil filled, threaded body shocks handle each corner and the huge axle articulation.
Servo
Due to the demands of crawling, FTX have chosen to include an Etronix 9kg steering servo to help navigate your Kanyon through the roughest of terrains.

You get what you pay for - and sometimes a bit more. Don't expect the Kanyon to rival a TRX4's chassis ability, and don't expect a Hobao DC1's quality presentation, but this does a great job for it's price. Wide wheelbase and low centre of gravity has meant on several Dartmoor tracks this has performed far better than expected. Good rig, but do brace that floppy rear panel.
Absolutely amazing model. My 9 year old son bought this with his gift morning money and has driven it everyday. I want one. He very rarely lets me have a go!!! A battery upgrade is a must is it very Hungary but puts the power to very good use. I'm saving to get my own!
We did some homework on this model after my son showed real interest in it. We did the rail mod to support the body mounts, the gaffa tape inside the body and the sponge support inside the rear for the back door and spare tyre. The battery is a bit of a weak point but the model is unbelievably capable and deals with pretty much anything you can throw at it!! Excellent entry level model. We love it.
What a fantastic piece of kit, the ftx Kanyon Crawler, really is. If your thinking of getting a big crawler you won't go far wrong with the ftx anytime at all.

Can you replace/upgrade most of the parts on this car ? Just wondering in case anything gets broken and needs replacing or in the future i might want to upgrade a part .
A lot of bang for your buck with this crawler. As an entry level crawler it is great value and with loads of upgrading/aftermarket parts options, and plenty of videos online on how to strengthen the chassis/shell and other upgrades, you can steadily improve it further over time to be a fantastic rig. Buy it, you won't regret it.
