The FTX Outback Trooper 4x4 RTR 1:10 trail crawler in Grey blends classic short wheelbase, 2-door 80s/90s styling with capable trail performance. A fully detailed scale bodyshell is complemented by a realistic interior, driver figure and multi-function front and rear LED lights for authentic presence on the trail.
Under the body, a CNC-machined LCG chassis keeps mass low, while a reverse transmission layout helps counter torque twist. Suspension is handled by a front 3-link with Panhard bar and a traditional 4-link rear, damped by CNC aluminium oil-filled shocks. Straight axles front and rear house spiral-cut gears, with heavy-duty universal driveshafts up front for durability and steering precision.
Control comes via a 6-channel 2.4GHz radio and a 2-in-1 60A speed control paired to a 35T 550 brushed motor. An Etronix 25kg metal-geared waterproof steering servo provides confident steering, and there’s an optional mounting point for a front winch servo. Metal transmission gears throughout, centre telescopic driveshafts and hardened stainless steel chassis rails contribute to a robust, trail-ready platform.
Supplied 99% ready-to-run, the Outback Trooper includes a Voltz 2000mAh 7.4V 2S LiPo battery and Etronix USB LiPo charger, so you can get out on the trail with minimal setup. The FTX Outback Trooper (part number FTX5473) delivers a strong balance of scale detail and performance at an attractive value.
Chassis and Drivetrain
LCG chassis design, reverse transmission layout to reduce torque twist, robust metal gearing and spiral-cut axle gears, plus a 3-link with Panhard front and 4-link rear suspension for assured control.
Electronics and Control
35T 550 brushed motor with 2-in-1 60A speed control, 6-channel 2.4GHz radio and a high-torque 25kg waterproof steering servo. Optional winch servo mounting is provided up front.
Scale Body and Details
Highly detailed scale bodyshell with moulded accessories, hidden body mounts, heavy-duty bumpers with bull bars and mud flaps, interior set with driver and a mounted spare tyre.

There is something about a short wheelbase trail rig that looks purposeful, and the new Trooper is no different. Mirroring that classic 2-door 80’s/90’s feel, the Trooper features an incredible, fully detailed scale bodyshell adorned with numerous moulded accessories, full function front and rear lights with scale light buckets, finished with an interior and driver figure that truly brings the vehicle to life.
Underneath the Trooper a CNC machined LCG chassis holds a compact single speed gearbox and split transmission mounted as low as possible. Reverse transmission helps counter torque twist effect. A 3-link with Panhard bar set-up is featured at the front with traditional 4-link rear all controlled by aluminium oil filled shock absorbers. Straight axles front and rear house spiral cut drive and pinion gears, with the front using heavy-duty universal driveshafts.
The Trooper uses a waterproof, metal geared 25kg rated steering servo, along with the option to mount a winch servo should you wish to upgrade. A 60amp rated 2-in-1 speed control and 6-channel radio provide the control, while a 35T 550 sized brushed motor and 2000mAH 2S LiPo battery supply the power.
