About the Crusader Mk III

Designed at the outset of the Second World War, the Crusader became one of Britain’s most important cruiser tanks, with more than 5,000 produced. Its Christie suspension and large-diameter road wheels delivered strong mobility across rough terrain. Early Mk I and Mk II variants carried a 2‑pounder gun, later upgraded to a more powerful 6‑pounder on the Mk III. Although its armour protection and survivability against mines and anti‑tank weapons were limited, the Crusader could achieve good results when deployed in a coordinated manner.
