About the M4A3E8 "Easy Eight"
The M4 Sherman medium tank served as the backbone of United States armoured forces in the Second World War and was produced in large numbers. The M4A3E8, nicknamed “Easy Eight”, entered production at the end of 1944 and introduced key improvements: a 76mm M1 high-velocity gun and a horizontal volute spring suspension (HVSS) that improved driving characteristics and speed. The variant saw action in the final stages of WWII and played an active role in the Korean War, operating alongside the M26 Pershing and M46 Patton.
