Italeri Tornado Ids - 40Th Anniversary

Celebrate four decades of an iconic strike aircraft with the Italeri Tornado IDS 40th Anniversary scale model kit. Developed through Italian, German and UK collaboration, the IDS (Interdictor/Strike) Tornado was purpose-built for low-altitude penetrating missions, combining twin engines with variable-sweep wings to deliver outstanding operational efficiency.

This special edition packs impressive detail and build options. With 350 parts and photo-etched details, it offers a removable RB199 engine with its own support trolley, an openable radome revealing fully detailed radars, and a wealth of positional elements to customise your finished model. A colour instruction sheet and two super decal sheets provide markings for three versions.

Aircraft Background

The Tornado arose from a joint Italy–Germany–United Kingdom programme to create a multi-role, high-performance combat aircraft optimised for low-level strike missions. The IDS was the first variant to enter service—designated GR.1 in the UK—and served with the Aeronautica Militare, Luftwaffe and RAF, demonstrating notable efficiency across varied operational scenarios.
