J Perkins JP 2x4in 36in Bonded Block Balsa (JPDM01001) is a solid bonded balsa wood block made by laminating smaller strips into a consistent working mass. The 2 x 4in profile and 36in length provide a substantial section of lightweight modelling material for carving, shaping, CNC machining and prototype construction.
The laminated construction is designed to provide a more uniform block than a single large piece of raw balsa, reducing the natural knots, splits and variations that can occur in timber. This gives modellers a consistent surface and volume for removing material with standard hobby tools. The block can be cut, sanded and shaped for model-making projects, aerodynamic prototypes, architectural forms and master-model work.
