We'd use a 12v gel cell type battery such as 5510050 and a charger like SLA12

Yes, these would normally be used to start nitro engines in planes.

The switch is combined into the handle on these, so it spins as you squeeze.

Hmm, you'd need to lower the voltage to change the speed - either through some kind of voltage regulator or ESC....

how many amps does the JP Power Torque II 12v Starter Motor use , at full speed ? How long can it be run at that speed ? Thanks Peter

Apologies but we don't have that information... These are a generic starter motor ideal for nitro engines. Constant use (say over 60 seconds or so) would not really be recommended.
