About The Ka-52 Alligator

Developed from the single-seat Ka-50 Black Shark, the two-seat Ka-52 adds a navigator–weapons operator to expand mission capability. The prototype first flew in 1997, with initial production delivered to Russian Army Aviation in 2011. Its armament suite includes a 2A42 30 mm cannon, unguided rockets of 80, 122 and 240 mm calibre, and provisions for bombs and cannon pods up to 2 tonnes. The Ka-52 can also employ Ataka anti-tank missiles with laser guidance and Igla-V air-to-air missiles.
