Description

The Kyosho 1:43 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R V-Spec II Black Pearl, part number KS03936BK, is a scale model of the Japanese performance coupé. It depicts the R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II in Black Pearl, a deep-toned paint finish associated with the angular bodywork, broad arches, bonnet vent and substantial rear wing.

About the Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R

The R34 Skyline appeared in 1998, with the GT-R following in 1999. Nissan introduced the V-Spec II evolution in 2000, adding dedicated aerodynamic and chassis tuning to the GT-R specification. The V-Spec II is distinguished by its carbon-fibre bonnet with a NACA duct, while aluminium pedals formed part of its cabin specification.

The car was powered by Nissan's 2.6-litre RB26DETT twin-turbocharged straight-six engine, with power sent through a six-speed manual gearbox and the ATTESA E-TS system to all four wheels. An active rear differential, tuned suspension and four-wheel steering contributed to the car's road performance. The compact body, four round rear lamps and short wheelbase continued the Skyline GT-R design lineage.

The R34 GT-R was the final Skyline-branded GT-R generation and was produced until 2002. The V-Spec II should not be confused with the later V-Spec II Nür special edition. This Kyosho model captures the Black Pearl version of the V-Spec II at 1:43 scale, making it suited to collectors of Japanese cars, Nissan models and scale automotive replicas.

Specifications

NISSAN SKYLINE R34 GT-R V-SPEC II – BLACK PEARL FEATURES NISSAN SKYLINE R34 GT-R V-SPEC II – BLACK PEARL The R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II is a celebrated Japanese high-performance coupé. The R34 Skyline appeared in 1998 and the GT-R joined it in 1999. Nissan introduced the V-Spec II evolution in 2000. Its origins lie in the long-running Skyline GT-R performance lineage. The R34's compact, angular body expresses its technical purpose. The development programme was associated with Skyline chief engineer Kozo Watanabe. Nissan's design team combined a short wheelbase with broad, muscular arches. Four round rear lamps maintained an instantly recognisable Skyline identity. The front openings serve cooling and reinforce its assertive appearance. A substantial rear wing forms part of its aerodynamic character. The V-Spec specification added dedicated aerodynamic and chassis tuning. Its active rear differential helped the car deploy power through corners. The V-Spec II introduced a carbon-fibre bonnet with a NACA duct. Nissan described it as an early production-car application of this design. Aluminium pedals enhanced the purposeful cabin. Black Pearl gives the angular body a discreet, deep-toned appearance. It is a paint finish rather than a separate mechanical edition. Nissan has not published an authoritative factory count for this exact colour and grade. The standard V-Spec II was produced from 2000 until the R34 GT-R ended in 2002. It should not be confused with the later V-Spec II Nür special edition. The engine is the 2.6-litre RB26DETT twin-turbocharged straight-six. Nissan's period specification quoted 280 PS for the Japanese-market car. Power passes through a six-speed manual gearbox. The ATTESA E-TS system distributes drive to all four wheels. Four-wheel steering technology contributed to its agile responses. The stiff body and tuned suspension made the R34 a capable road car. Its centre display presented driving information to the driver. The cockpit places mechanical feedback ahead of decoration. The Black Pearl finish emphasises the bonnet vent and wide fenders. Nissan also developed dedicated GT-R competition machines from the R34 platform. NISMO entered R34 GT-R race cars in Japan's GT500 championship. Those race cars were extensively modified and were not standard V-Spec II road cars. The R34 GT-R programme ultimately achieved a JGTC drivers' title in 2003. A Black Pearl road car cannot be credited with that title personally. The V-Spec II nevertheless shares the engineering heritage behind those efforts. Its carbon bonnet is one of the defining details of the model. The R34 became the final Skyline-branded GT-R generation. Black Pearl lends the V-Spec II a restrained alternative to brighter GT-R colours. Today it is remembered for its fusion of turbocharged power and precise chassis technology.
