The LRP ZR 28 Spec 4 Nitro Engine With Pullstart (SCH-LRP32803) delivers big-block .28 performance with refined drivability. Due to modifications of the already great predecessor, the LRP ZR.28 Spec.4 Pullstart has been significantly improved in the carburettor vernier adjustment as well as in the cooling of the cylinder head. The Heavy-Duty CoolDownMax cylinder head that has already successfully been introduced with its bigger brother, now also serves in the ZR.30.

A completely new carburettor has been build-in for an even better adjustability especially when in at idle speed. The performance, especially when stationary, has been improved with this move. All in all, the ZR.28 Spec.4 offers more torque with better adjustability and improved responsiveness.

Otherwise being a giant, it is a true midget in its dimensions. Due to its compact construction the engine can be used as a direct replacement to the .21 engines. The ZR.28 Spec.4 fits into all common .21 engine mounts.

Steve @ Wheelspin Models
Will this drop straight into a trophy truggy and will it have more power than the standard engine?
Charlie / 20th December 2024

That will fit but it is the same size and power as the original engine.

Steve @ Wheelspin Models
will this be better than a fast .21 for an on road Kyosho GT2? as in better i mean faster
Allan / 4th July 2024

Hi, not really smaller engines rev faster so the bigger engine is more torque but less RPM

Steve @ Wheelspin Models
have you got a really good tunepipe and really good manifold you can recommend for this engine whitch will fit on the kyosho neo inferno 3.0
Spencer / 14th June 2024

This engine would fit that car.  This would be a great tuned pipe to use  NN.51135-021

Si @ Wheelspin Models
would the exaust that comes with the kyosho inferno 3.0 fit this engine or not
Spencer / 14th June 2024

Yes, that should go straight on to this engine.

Si @ Wheelspin Models
What are the other bits I would need to get this going on my kyosho neo inferno 3.0 what sort of clutch and clutch bell and all the bits I need
Spencer / 14th June 2024

You could use the original clutch system or this:

REDMUCN0012

REDMUQU0063

Steve @ Wheelspin Models
Hi will this fit the HPI WR8 with the 3.0 HO engine ? Will existing engine mounts be ok ?
Ali / 12th June 2024

This engine will be much too big for that car.

Rich @ Wheelspin Models
Hi guys just wondering if this would be a straight fit into a hpi truggy 4.6? Thanks
Aaron / 15th May 2024

Yes that should fit in that car.

Rich @ Wheelspin Models
Do you do a roto start system for this engine and how much for both please
Matthew Arnold / 24th January 2024

We do not do a roto start system for that engine.

Steve @ Wheelspin Models
Will it fit/work in a HOBAO HYPER VT NITRO
James / 2nd July 2023

Yes this would be OK in that car, you may need to raise the engine slightly to clear the bigger pull start that this engine has.

Si @ Wheelspin Models
WILL THIS FIT A SAVAGE X 4.6
Shane Heath / 14th March 2023

That should fit fine.

Steve @ Wheelspin Models
Does the lrp 28 engine come with the brass taper for the fly wheel on the savage, or do I have to remove it from the old engine?
Gary Anderson / 10th December 2022

You would need to use the one from the old fly wheel.

Si @ Wheelspin Models
Will this engine fit 1.8 scale kyosho mad crusher
Nigel Morris / 20th November 2022

Yes, this is a big block engine so should fit that car

Si @ Wheelspin Models
Would this fit and be a good replacement engine on my HPI Trophy 3.5
Ben Cunnington / 2nd July 2022

Yes this would be good with that car

Si @ Wheelspin Models
Would this fit in a ftx carnage
Bradley / 10th December 2021

No, this is to big for that car. You would need FTX6149

Si @ Wheelspin Models
Hi I have this engine to fit into my Hyper VS but the back plate and pull start bottom out on the chassis, is there a different engine mount or a spacer that I can use that will work? Thanks
Kevin Jones / 11th August 2021

Afraid I don't know to a specific spacer/different engine mount that would be taller - however I have seen similar issues in the past on various cars.

Perhaps you could fabricate a spacer from a small section of aluminium? It would just need two holes at the appropriate distance?

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Hi, im looking for an engine upgrade for my hpi trophy (v1) 4.6can you suggest any thing that will fit, os would be great. but just need something thats a reliable starter as the original nitrostar has been poor thanks
Liam / 30th May 2021

This would fit and work well in there

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
hi, what clutch nut can i use for this engine please?
James / 11th May 2021

Any standard clutch nut would work - eg say HPI-101062

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Could I change the the carb around as throttle is on other side on my Rc
Reece / 24th March 2021

Yes you can flip the carb around easily

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Hi could you please advise what clutch to order with this engine also what bell housing
Reece / 24th March 2021

That does depend a little on what you're fitting it into? However pretty much any standard clutch should fit. Some nice options would be say TLR342014 or TLR9101 or REDMUQU0063

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Hi will this fit in hyper 7 tq2 sport 28
Scooby / 15th March 2021
