About The Mid-Production Tiger I

The mid-production Tiger I, fielded from the second half of 1943, evolved from the initial North Africa and Eastern Front vehicles. Early examples retained rubber-rimmed road wheels before later changes in 1944, while the new turret offered increased protection and an improved commander’s cupola. Some tanks of this period also kept Feifel dust filters and smoke grenade launchers. From August 1943, a magnetic mine paste (Zimmerit) was applied, becoming standard on German Army armour of the time. These hallmarks define the mid-production look and provide rich reference points for finishing and detailing your build.
