Tamiya 1/35 Jgsdf Light Armored Vehicle

A Nifty Design
Japan Ground Self Defense Force units were first provided with the highly mobile, well-defended Light Armored Vehicle since 2002, and it has proven a successful design capable to speeds up to 100km/h thanks to its 160hp diesel engine. It was deployed in Iraq from 2004, and subsequent vehicles were updated with lessons learned from the hard service there, featuring updates such as a rear bracket for fuel cans and the spare tire. Additions such as smoke dischargers and machine gun were made depending upon the unit.

About the Model

- This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 128mm.
- Accurate rendering of Japanese archipelago spec vehicle based upon extensive research of an actual example.
- Captures upright side mirrors, damped side windows, antennae, rear brackets and more.
- Optional smoke dischargers and machine gun.
- Mirror stickers are included for side mirror surfaces.

Packaging

- The compact LAV is expertly depicted in 1/35, complete with details such as the rear bracket specific to vehicles serving in Japan.


- Choose from different types of antenna. Optional depictions of smoke dischargers and machine gun are also included in the kit.


- This top view shows the hatch, which can be assembled open or closed. The 5.56mm MINIMI machine gun showcases great detail.

- Parts are included in the kit to recreate a driver figure and add even more realism to your modeling masterpiece!


- Moving to the underside of the vehicle, there is plenty to look at. The chassis is a die cast piece, lending the model a weighty feel.
