Tamiya 1/35 M5A1 W/4 Figures

The Tamiya 1/35 M5A1 W/4 Figures (HC-35313) is a re-release of the classic U.S. Light Tank M5A1 kit, capturing the welded and bolted hull and turret detail with a sharp, authentic finish. This set also includes hedgerow cutters as seen during the Normandy invasion, plus a total of four figures to enhance diorama possibilities.

Historical Background

Developed from the M3 Stuart, the M5A1 entered production in January 1943. Powered by twin Cadillac V8 petrol engines delivering 300hp, it could reach up to 58km/h. Armed with a 37mm main gun and two 7.92mm machine guns, the M5A1 also featured additional armour on the turret’s right side to protect the anti-aircraft machine gun. Around 6,800 were produced, serving mainly in reconnaissance roles across the Italian and North West European fronts.
