The Tamiya Hornet Kit (HC-58336) brings back the iconic 1984 2WD off-road buggy that helped ignite a global R/C craze. Retaining the spirit of the original, this re-release pairs classic looks with dependable performance on both dirt and tarmac. A durable yet lightweight ABS resin bathtub frame, sealed rear gearbox and proven suspension layout deliver the authentic Hornet driving experience, while an electronic speed controller and Type 540 motor are included to get the build underway.
Designed for straightforward assembly, the Hornet features independent swing axle front suspension with friction dampers and a rolling rigid rear end with oil-filled dampers. The clear polycarbonate (Lexan) body is supplied unpainted for a personalised finish, and the reinforced resin bumper and protective gearbox design help it cope with off-road running.
