Tamiya Matilda Mkiii/Iv Infantry Tank

The Tamiya Matilda Mk III/IV Infantry Tank (HC-35300) is a 1/35 scale plastic assembly kit of Britain’s A12 Matilda, famed for its heavy armour and service in the North African Front during WWII. Designed to advance with infantry, the Matilda’s protection proved highly effective against early-war opponents and it served widely with Allied forces.

Historical Notes

Introduced in the mid-1930s with armour up to 60mm and a 2‑pounder gun, the diesel-powered Matilda moved at infantry pace and proved formidable in the desert. Its robust armour forced opponents to adopt heavier anti-tank guns, including the 88mm. The type saw service throughout WWII and was also operated by Soviet, Australian and other Allied forces under Lend-Lease.
