The Tamiya XV-02 PRO Chassis Kit (part number HC-58707) is a modern, purpose-built 4WD rally platform that evolves the proven XV-01 concept. Where the XV-01 utilised a belt-drive layout, the all-new XV-02 switches to a shaft-driven system with a front mid-ship motor and equal-length front and rear propeller shafts for consistent, responsive drive on mixed surfaces.
The design focuses on balance, protection and tunability for rally stages. A longitudinal battery position on the centre-left aids weight distribution, while the polycarbonate chassis cover with wheel well liners helps keep out dirt and dust. Revised 6-degree caster blocks, long aluminium dampers and bumpers with skid angles contribute to controlled handling and reduced surface contact. Suspension arms and front uprights are based on the XV-01, and rally block tyres with wheels are included.
Drive Balance Adjustment
- Comes with two 39T differential gears and one 40T differential gear for adjustment of front and rear drive balance (over-drive and under-drive).
- Use a 39T gear (with 15T gear) at the front and a 40T gear (with 15T gear) at the rear for drive balance bias to the front, and vice-versa for bias to the rear.

The all-new XV-02 Pro takes its 4WD drivetrain into a different direction by using a shaft-driven system with front mid-ship motor placement that incorporates equal length front and rear propeller shafts!
XV-02 chassis at a glance:
