The ICM Tupolev‑144D – Soviet Supersonic Passenger Aircraft (HC-ICM14402) is a highly detailed 1:144 scale plastic model kit with 114 pieces, quality moulding and comprehensive assembly instructions. At 465 mm in length and 204 mm in height, it offers an impressive display of the Tu‑144D’s distinctive lines, with high‑accuracy sprues made from quality plastic.

About The Tu‑144D

The Tu‑144 was the world’s first supersonic passenger aircraft, designed by the A.N. Tupolev Design Bureau. Its prototype first flew on 31 December 1968, two months ahead of the British‑French Concorde. Serial production began in 1971. The Tu‑144D variant, introduced in 1974, used RD‑36‑51A engines and extended range to 5,300 km. Five Tu‑144D aircraft were completed by 1984; aircraft SSSR‑77112 flew nearly 50 cargo services on the Moscow–Khabarovsk route and is now displayed at the Sinsheim Technik Museum.

The maiden flight of the prototype was on December 31st, 1968 (two months earlier than British-French Concorde). The serial production began in 1971. The modification Tu-144D with RD-36-51A engines and increased to 5300 km range was designed in 1974. All in all, 5 Tu-144D aircraft were built up to 1984.

SSSR-77112 aircraft made near to 50 cargo flights on the Moscow to Khabarovsk line. Now it is on display at the Sinsheim Technique Museum.
