This effective and reliable short-barreled gun would remain in production from 1932 until the end of the war, with over 12,000 units made. This gun was normally served by a five-man crew The le.IG 18 featured a split-trail carriage that could be used to tow the gun, then broken into two rails to proved a more stable firing platform. It also had an armored shield to protect the crew when the weapon was deployed.
