Zvezda 1/35 BA-3 Soviet Armoured Car Kit HC-Z3546

The Zvezda 1/35 BA-3 Soviet Armoured Car model kit, part number HC-Z3546, is a scale kit depicting the Soviet heavy armoured car introduced in 1933. Based on the Ford-Timken 6x4 truck chassis, the BA-3 used three axles, with power supplied to the rear two. Its turret was derived from the early T-26 tank and carried a 45 mm cannon, giving the vehicle considerably greater firepower than many armoured cars of its period.

The BA-3 had armour intended to protect against small-arms fire, although it offered limited protection against heavier weapons. Auxiliary tracks could be fitted over the rear wheels to improve mobility across soft ground. Produced in relatively small numbers, the vehicle represents an important stage in Soviet armoured car development and provides a distinctive subject for a military vehicle model collection.
