Historical Background

During WWII, 148 Komatsu G40 bulldozers were produced and dispatched to northern and southern fronts to support airfield construction, though few reached their destinations. Only one example is known to have survived and is displayed at the Komatsu Techo Center in Shizuka, Japan. In 2007, the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers recognised the G40 as a Mechanical Engineering Heritage item.
