Answering an increasingly vocal call for a trad’ built sportster, the Balsa Pro-Built Riot takes all the exemplary design cues and flying characteristics of the EPO model and offers them in the form of a beautifully built, highly durable, CNC-cut balsa, ply and film-wrapped airframe. Discerning pilots love the foamie Riot, however traditionalists crave the added longevity offered by the ding-resistant, easy-clean (and visually bold) film-covered surface of a balsa-built aircraft. And the Pro-Built Riot is just that.

In a package that leaves little to chance, the kit comes with a full hardware pack that includes all the fittings and accessories required, not least the engine / motor mounts necessary for both the i.c. or electric power options.

Available in three pre-finished colour schemes (red, blue or yellow) there’s something here for everyone, not least the opportunity to maintain some individuality at the patch.

Power options are numerous and whilst the prototype used a .40cu. in. 2-stroke, a .46 would fit the bill just as well, offering outstanding vertical performance in the process. The electric version suits a Radient 4250 800KV outrunner perfectly which, hooked to a Radient 4S 2600mAh LiPo, offers an abundance of power and a healthy stick-stirring duration.
