The 1.5m airframe arrives fully painted with moulded panel lines, a simulated radial engine and a detailed cockpit with pilot figure. Functional split flaps and electric retracts with lightweight struts enhance scale operations, while a large, top-mounted battery hatch speeds pack changes. Assembly is quick and glue-free, and the one-piece wing uses hands-free servo connections for easy transport and storage.

The tough AT-6 Texan gave them the ability to handle all the bad habits of a fighter and become well-disciplined with a high level of respect for their aircraft. U.S. Navy pilots flew the airplane extensively under the SNJ designation, and today, hundreds of AT-6s continue to fly, serving well beyond their trainer role. The E-flite SNJ-5/AT-6 Texan 1.5m is a rare tribute to the unsung warbird, equipped with an upgraded 3S and 4S compatible power system, including a Spektrum Avian 70A Smart Lite ESC. The BNF Basic version also includes a telemetry-capable AR631+ receiver with enhanced AS3X+® technology – plus optional-use SAFE® Select technology to make it even easier for a wide range of pilots to fly and enjoy!
E-flite has updated and upgraded the SNJ-5/AT-6 1.5m to make it the most capable and easiest to fly scale replica of the Texan yet! The airframe is factory-finished in an iconic scheme based on the SNJ-5 "101," which is still being flown by High Sky Wing – a unit of the Commemorative Air Force based in Midland, Texas. It features a variety of scale details, including molded-in panel lines, a simulated radial engine, a detailed cockpit with a pilot figure, and more. Plus, its functional flaps and retractable landing gear add to the scale flying experience. The upgraded 3S and 4S 2200–4000mAh compatible power system features a 70A Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC. The BNF Basic version is equipped with an AR631+ receiver, delivering real-time telemetry data along with enhanced AS3X+ and optional-use SAFE Select technologies. You don't need any glue for assembly, so you can get flying faster, typically in less time than it takes to charge a battery. The one-piece wing is easy to remove/install for even easier transport and storage thanks to hands-free servo connections. It all adds up to deliver features, handling, and performance that make it an excellent choice for intermediate to advanced warbird pilots!

Skill Level 3 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for more experienced RC pilots who already have the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. This PNP version requires more experience and skills to assemble and fly than the BNF Basic version because you will need to install a receiver that does not already include properly tuned AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. You should have the experience and skills necessary to assemble and successfully fly models like the E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.0m, T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.3m, Commander mPd 1.4m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the SNJ-5/AT-6 Texan 1.5m PNP version.
The Plug-N-Play (PNP) version comes out of the box with a factory-installed power system and servos that are ready to connect to the compatible receiver of your choice (sold separately), plus the transmitter and battery you provide (also sold separately). Simply install the receiver, finish any final assembly, and fly!
The SNJ-5/AT-6 Texan is equipped with an exclusive Spektrum Avian 70A Smart Lite Brushless ESC that can provide a variety of real-time power system related telemetry data including motor RPM, current, battery voltage and more – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – via compatible receivers (including the AR631+) and Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others) while you fly.
The lightweight yet durable, composite-reinforced and fully molded EPO airframe is equipped with an abundance of scale detail including panel lines, simulated radial engine, a pilot figure and more.
Factory-installed retracts with strut covers, plus operational split flaps, are functional scale features that take your experience to another level.
The factory-installed Spektrum brushless outrunner motor is 3S and 4S compatible to offer a wide range of "mild to wild" performance – from scale flying and performing basic aerobatics with 3S batteries to unlimited vertical plus unexpected aggressive aerobatic performance with 4S batteries! The convenient top-mounted and magnetically secured hatch makes it easy to install and remove common and popular 2200–4000mAh batteries.
The lightweight yet durable EPO airframe is composite reinforced for added strength. And the factory-installed servos deliver reliable and precise control at every speed to perform slow and scale-like to aggressive aerobatic flying with confidence.
No glue or specials tools are required for final assembly so you can have the SNJ-5/AT-6 Texan 1.5m ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery! And although it's conveniently sized to fit fully assembled in many vehicles, you can remove the one-piece wing with hands-free connections for easier storage and transport.
