Hobao Extreme VTE2 Speed Run Roller

The Hobao Extreme VTE2 Speed Run Roller (part number HB-VTE2-8) is an 80% pre-assembled 1/8 on-road EP platform designed for high-speed builds. It pairs a lightweight hard-anodised aluminium chassis (390 g) with a complete 4WD driveline, coming in at a car weight of 2360 g. Flexible layout options make it straightforward to tailor your speed-run setup.

Motor placement is highly configurable: front mounting suits motors up to 119 mm in length, while rear mounting accommodates up to 140 mm. A carbon fibre ESC top tray can be positioned front or rear, and a 3-position adjustable battery stopper helps secure different LiPo sizes. Adjustable side body supports, front and rear splash guards and a lightweight rear floating body mount set are included, with suggested compatibility for VTE and VTE2 series bodies.

Chassis, Drivetrain & Gearing

• 4WD drivetrain with hardened steel front universal joint driveshaft and rear dogbone.
• Heavy-duty lightweight steel + aluminium front and rear centre driveshafts.
• Centre spool with 34T MOD 1 spur gear, 8 mm shaft and hardened steel cup; fits 8 mm bore pinion gears and supports up to a 48T spur.
• Front and rear bevel-gear differentials with new anti-leakage housings and hardened steel lightweight cups; filled with 500K (front) and 50K (rear) silicone oils.
• Aluminium spool mount (HOP-0153).
• CNC aluminium cam-lock motor mount: standard HOP-0149 for max O.D. 50 mm motors; optional HOP-0150 for max O.D. 57 mm motors.
• Rear wheel hub +2 mm with anti-loose wheel nut; rear suspension mount +4 mm. Optional RF HOP-0176 / RR HOP-0177 with POM pills HOP-0178 / HOP-0179.
• Optional drivetrain parts: 5.3 mm universal driveshaft HOP-0159, 5.0 mm rear dogbone HOP-0161, 40T ring gear HOP-0146, 15T pinion gear HOP-0147, bevel gear HOP-0139, differential housing HOP-0148.

Suspension & Handling

• Oil-filled 17 mm big-bore shocks with #600 silicone oil and 4 mm shafts; springs 0.45 kgf/cm (L=35 mm, orange).
• 4 mm thick CNC aluminium shock towers.
• Full ball bearing set included.
• Front and rear sway bars, front PBS, reinforced composite upper and lower arms.
• Adjustable caster and camber.
