The Kyosho Mini‑Z MR‑04EVO2 chassis set advances the proven MR‑03 layout with a sensor‑equipped brushless motor, a redesigned front suspension and a lower battery position for a major step in performance. This latest update adds reinforced 2.0 front suspension arms and includes the widely adopted gyro unit as standard. Upgraded to Version 2, the gyro delivers a refined balance of stability and cornering precision for improved race pace and driver confidence. Kyosho part number K.32893G-B.

A dedicated CPU inside the gyro enables ultra‑precise control and dramatically faster response. Higher gain no longer compromises steering authority, so stability and rotation are maintained even on high‑grip tracks. The MR‑04EVO2 also supports narrow and wide front tread settings by changing the plates and tie rod, with an adjustable wheelbase to suit different bodies.

The front end features a kingpin‑integrated knuckle for smoother action and improved camber stability, with revised caster and trail for more linear manoeuvrability. All seven ball bearings now use a 3 mm internal diameter to cut rotational resistance. AAA cells are mounted lower in the chassis to drop the centre of gravity, boosting stability, speed and control through corners. A ball differential is included to optimise left/right wheel speed in turns and add controlled slip under load, complemented by silver clear‑anodised aluminium parts.

A new RC unit enables direct motor RPM control for precise tuning and alignment with evolving Mini‑Z Cup regulations. Using the I.C.S. Setting Manager, racers can configure motor settings to match class rules. High‑speed communication with compatible transmitters achieves response times of approximately 0.99 ms (KO ADV mode) and 0.9 ms (Futaba EVO2 mode).

No boundaries, no compromises! New gyro improves cornering performance! At the end of 2023, the Mini-Z MR-04EVO2 underwent a full model change after 14 years. Building on the MR-03’s proven layout, the MR-04EVO2 model introduced a sensor-equipped brushless motor, a redesigned front suspension, and a lower battery position—resulting in a major performance leap. Now, the MR-04EVO2 receives a key update with even further upgrades. Featuring reinforced 2.0 front suspension arms previously introduced in the RWD series, the updated model now includes the widely adopted gyro unit set as standard. Upgraded to Version 2, the gyro offers a refined balance of stability and cornering precision, enhancing both race performance and the driving experience. Another key improvement is the new RC unit that enables motor RPM control for precise tuning which is essential for racers while maintaining fair competition as Mini-Z Cup rules shift from regulating motor KV (RPM per volt) to directly regulating RPM in 2025. The MR-04EVO2 fully supports this new system, and with the I.C.S. Setting Manager, users can easily configure motor settings to match class regulations.

A dedicated CPU has been integrated into the gyro unit’s circuit board, allowing for ultra-precise control. With faster processing speed, response time is dramatically improved, eliminating the common issue in older gyros where higher gain would reduce turning performance. This next-generation gyro unit delivers unmatched stability and takes cornering precision to a whole new level.

While retaining elements of the excellent MR-03 layout, the new MR-04EVO2 chassis achieves significant performance improvements with changes to the front suspension and a lower C of G that work in synergy with a sensored brushless motor. Both narrow and wide tread settings are available by changing the lower and upper plates on the front as well as the steering tie rod. Adjustable wheelbase allows chassis setting according to body type.

While camber angle is optimized during cornering with the swing of the current upper arm design, the front suspension uses the new kingpin-integrated knuckle to further improve camber stability. Geometric revision of caster and trail etc. delivers more linear maneuverability. New spec front springs for the MR-04 with different hardness are available as options.

Front knuckle design features integrated kingpin with optimized clearance with the kingpin ball for smoother operation. Ball bearings have been changed to 3mm internal diameter for lower rotational resistance.

All 7 ball bearings are 3mm internal diameter for lower rotational resistance to minimize friction loss

Lower mounting of the AAA batteries on the chassis realizes a lower center of gravity compared to the MR-03. In combination with the chassis shape, this improves stability through corners as well as enhancing speed and control.

Ball differential included as standard optimizes the rotational differences between left and right rear wheels when turning. Also provides moderate slip action to improve traction when excessive load is applied. Silver clear anodized finish to aluminum parts creates a formidable style to match performance.

The new unit also supports high-speed communication with various high-end transmitters and receivers to realize unprecedented control response. Achieves transmission speeds of 0.99ms with KO units (ADV mode) and 0.9ms with Futaba units (EVO2 mode). *Previously 2.6ms ~ 3.0ms
