Tamiya Nissan R91CP

The Tamiya Nissan R91CP (HC-47531) is a celebrated re-issue of the iconic 1/10 R/C kit, originally released as Item 58109 in 1992 and Item 84264 in 2012. The full-size Nissan R91CP featured a low-profile, highly aerodynamic body and a 3,500cc V8 twin turbo engine, and famously took overall victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona with drivers Kazuyoshi Hoshino, Toshio Suzuki and Masahiro Hasemi – the first triumph for a Japanese car at the event.

This 1/10 scale R/C model assembly kit captures that winning silhouette with a separately moulded polycarbonate body, wing and front light cases, complemented by a detailed styrene cockpit and driver figure. Underneath, Tamiya’s direct-drive 2WD chassis combines an ABS plastic bathtub with front and rear space frames and FRP plates to deliver a rigid, responsive platform.

Direct-Drive 2WD Chassis

At the front, independent coil-sprung king pin suspension promotes precise steering response. The rear employs a rigid 3-point layout with a 1.5mm FRP T-bar and a CVA oil damper to support traction and stability. Ground clearance is adjustable with two settings at the front and three at the rear to suit the running surface. Gun metallic 5-spoke wheels are paired with high-grip sponge tyres for assured grip.
