I believe these were an optional accessory on the mk1 clod buster. I have owned two early clod busters, my original one was circa 1990 and the one I currently own is a 1987 model. From recollection, the 1990 car featured the sport tuned motors in the build manual, but this upgrade is not included in the option list in the 1987 build manual or on the 'hop-up' parts list on the box. I just thought I'd check in case there were either structural or component changes on the later cars that permitted the use of the upgraded motors...? It's a classic piece and evidently do not want to over stress the old girl, but at the same time would like to get it up to period 'top specification'. I look forward to hearing from you. Many thanks.

If you are going with a higher lower turn motor you may damage the internal gears , the esc will need to be rated for the motor you wish to use but with classics we could not say how long gears would last.

Will this be a straight swop for the maverick quantum motor or will it require other upgrades?
Matt / 23rd September 2023

Yes this will fit that car.

Andy Loges / 5th September 2023

Yes that will work mfine.

Steve @ Wheelspin Models
Will I need any other gears to fit to the 540 sport tuned engine in a grasshopper or will the existing cogs fit this motor? Thanks
Kevin / 4th May 2023

The existing pinion gear will fit the tuned motor.

Steve @ Wheelspin Models
It's hard to tell the difference between the motor models. - 1) Would this fit a Tamiya 'Dark Impact' buggy? 2) Is it much faster than the "CORE 15T Silver Can Brushed 540 Motor" that I think I received in my recent 'Dark Impact - Bundle' purchased from you a few weeks ago?
James Austin / 18th June 2022

This would fit that car but would be slowwer than the Core 15t motor that you have

Si @ Wheelspin Models
Hi, What the fastest motor to put in a Tamiya Lunchbox 1.2 with standard esc. Regards
Joshua Lown / 1st May 2022

On the standard ESC they would normally go down to the 23t sport tuned motor.

Si @ Wheelspin Models
Would x2 of these work straight out the box on my Super Clod, with out motor timing issues ? Running the 880 hobbywing already , thanks
Ashley Bayford / 23rd April 2022

Yes, these should work for you.

Si @ Wheelspin Models
Hi is this the motor that comes with the tt02d and if so what ESC should I pair this motor with?
Customer / 26th June 2021

I'd use a Hobby wing 1060 brushed

Anthony @ Wheelspin Models
Hi, im thinking of upgrading my clod buster motors to the RS540 sport tuned 23T. Which ECS would be best to run with these? Thanks
Scott / 25th March 2021

If running dual motors the HW30120301 would work well

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Hi, would this be compatible with WL toys 124019? Thanks
Sanjit Bhangu / 26th February 2021

Afraid not a mode l'm familiar with - but if it takes standard 540 motors then yes this should work fine..

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Hi, is this compatible with 2015 Monster Beetle?
Saad / 5th February 2021

Yes that should fit in there

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
How many T is this motor ?
