Description

The Tamiya Lunch Box Kit (HC-58347) brings back a true 1980s classic, first released in 1987 and loved for its boxy van style and lively handling. This R/C assembly kit sits a bold minivan body over monster truck wheels for eye-catching looks and playful performance. A durable 2WD chassis, big 115mm tyres and a rear wheelie bar invite stunt-friendly running on a range of surfaces, while the sealed gearbox helps protect the drivetrain from dust and debris.

Built around an ABS box type frame, the Lunch Box features front independent swingarms and a rear rolling rigid suspension for simple, robust fun. A Type 540 motor and an electronic speed controller are included to get the chassis moving once your radio gear and battery are installed.

Specifications

This R/C assembly kit recreates a fun and boxy classic VAN with over-sized monster truck tyres. It is one of Tamiya's classic creations from the 1980s (first released in 1987). It has been a fan favourite for its original appearance as much as for its R/C performance. The boxy minivan body has been raised up over monster truck wheels to ensure that this R/C van will grab attention wherever you choose to drive it.

2WD Chassis Mounted on Big 115mm Diameter Tyres

how quick does this car go and what battery would you recommend.
Ollie / 2nd June 2020

Speed isn't quoted but we'd estimate around 20-25mph or so.

We'd go for the batteries as shown in our combo packs.

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Do the body come painted?
Billy Heaf / 11th April 2020

No, you'd want a can of TS paint to paint that  eg HC-85034 yellow

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
Hi, what else will be needed, tools etc, paint?
Rob / 30th April 2018

Yes, you'd require basic modelling tools (screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, craft knife, etc).  Paint would be recommended.

Ben @ Wheelspin Models
the Tamiya kit combo, is it possible to have this kit with a stick control instead of a wheel control as shown in you picture above? many thanks
James Partridge / 27th November 2016

Yes, you could instead use item ET1100 instead of the wheel radio set.
