Team Associated RC8T4E Team Kit + Gear Upgrade

The Team Associated RC8T4e Team Kit + Gear Upgrade (AS80952) brings proven race pedigree and enhanced drivetrain durability to serious 1/8 off-road competition. Developed by Associated Electrics’ Area 51, the new gearbox upgrade features a redesigned 40/9 ring and pinion with larger teeth for increased engagement and to help prevent skipping. Updated RC8B4 front and rear gearboxes use high-stiffness polymer with tighter screw and bearing fits. Team Associated driver Spencer Rivkin used these new parts to take the 2024 ROAR Electric Truck National Title with his RC8T4e.

With a refined chassis layout, in-line centre driveshafts and a centrally mounted centre differential, the RC8T4e is engineered for efficiency, balance and predictability. Multiple battery configurations let you tailor weight bias and CG to track conditions, while robust suspension and aero updates aim to deliver consistent handling and long component life.

• RC8T4e chassis layout featuring two saddle pack-style battery configurations. Both configurations include a centrally mounted centre differential and in-line centre driveshafts for superior drivetrain efficiency and equalised chassis balance.
• Four battery configurations to choose from: Two 2S shorty LiPo batteries for lowest CG and exceptional weight bias — Two full size “saddle pack” LiPo batteries for lowest CG and exceptional weight bias — One 4S shorty LiPo battery for simplified setup and more centralised weight bias — One full size LiPo battery for simplified setup and more centralised weight bias.
• Innovative front-end geometry with new 8° steering blocks paired with a wider upper suspension arm pivot for improved steering balance and predictable handling in all conditions.
• RC8T4e gearboxes are specific to front and rear with larger bearing sizes resulting in longer life of ring and pinion gears: Front gearbox uses a 3.5° inclined pinion gear angle to straighten the centre driveshaft for increased drivetrain efficiency and reduced phasing and vibration. Rear gearbox uses a 0° pinion gear angle and a centre mounted rear chassis brace.
• V2 front shock tower with updated suspension geometry and body mount positions for all styles of truck bodies.
• Front and rear centre dogbone driveshafts for improved drivetrain efficiency and durability.
• Front upper suspension arm updated with bushing insert for improved fitment and performance.
• RC8B4 rear wing mount with adjustable wing angle shims, significant strength improvements, aerodynamic shape, and extra clearance for shock position adjustment.
• Adjustable rear wing with more vertical fins for increased straight-line stability, a taller rear lip for increased downforce, and increased strength to reduce bending fatigue.
• RC8B4 rear chassis brace mounted centrally to the gearbox to reduce material fatigue, centralise shear forces, and improve rear-end drivetrain life; three chassis flex options using two chassis-hole locations and an optional turnbuckle ball.
• +2 mm and +4 mm shock rod ends for finer droop and up-travel adjustment.
• 35.5 mm front and 44.5 mm rear shock shafts for improved damping.
• RC8B4 rear hub with symmetrical left/right design and axle height inserts for adjustable roll centre tuning.
• +2° steering block arm.
• V3 differentials with HTC gear sets.
• RC8T3.2 split centre diff mounts with aluminium centre top plate.
• 16 mm shocks with improved locking spring cups and rod ends, V2 springs, “stiff” shock bladders, combination bleeder/emulsion caps, and blue aluminium threaded collars.
